Our Roots

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide every patient with compassionate, innovative and quality pediatric dental care in a safe, child-friendly environment. We are committed to educating our patient families about oral health in an approachable, professional environment.

This is Where Smiles Grow.

Our History

Where Smiles Grow originally opened under Dr. Steve Davidson (now retired), as Capital District Pediatric Dentistry, in the 1980’s. Several of our team have been devoted to our practice and helping children with their smiles since then! Over time, we have grown to include more pediatric dentists and team members to meet the needs of families in the Capital District.

In The Community

The team at Where Smiles Grow is dedicated to helping the families of the Capital District and surrounding areas.  We provide many types of community outreach.  Our team loves to visit local preschools and elementary schools every year to provide young children with dental health education.  We also visit local health fairs and informational settings to distribute information about children’s dental health.

Our dentists have contributed at local outreach events such as the Mission of Mercy, which provides dental care for those who do not have access.  In addition, Dr. Nancy Cavotta is on staff at Albany Medical Center as part of the Cleft Palate Team. She works with other members of the team to provide a unique experience and dental access for children with clefts and facial deformities.

Our team can also be seen at fundraising events for local charities.  We have participated in the walks for children’s leukemia, for breast cancer, and several other events.  In addition, our team participates in many holiday drives and  provides gifts for local families.  Our office also provides dental products for many organizations that distribute to the needy of the Capital Region.
